This Cookie Policy explains how Gradia Ltd ("Gradia", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the gradia.co.uk website. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. This policy applies to the Gradia website only - the Gradia mobile app does not use website cookies (see Section 6 below).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners.
Similar technologies - such as local storage, session storage, and pixels - work in comparable ways and are also covered by this policy. Where we refer to "cookies" below, we mean cookies and all similar technologies.
2. The cookies we use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They do not require your consent under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Local and session storage. The website also keeps a few items in your browser's own storage. They stay on your device, are not sent to advertisers, and are not used to track you:
- cookie-consent and cookie-consent-date - your cookie choice and when you made it
- theme - your light or dark display preference
- gradia.partner-offer-draft - the offer a business builds on our partner offer builder before creating an account, kept for up to 30 days and cleared when the application is submitted
- gradia-partner-onboarding - a draft of a business's partner sign-up, so progress is not lost, cleared when it is submitted
- gradia.partner-ambassador - the ambassador code from a partner link, so the ambassador who introduced a business is credited, kept for up to 30 days
- Session storage during sign-up and password reset - the email address you entered, so the verification step knows where the code was sent. Cleared when you close the tab or finish the step
Analytics Cookies
We do not currently use any analytics cookies on this website. We do not run Google Analytics or any other website analytics tool.
Marketing Cookies
We use marketing cookies for two purposes: so that a brand partner can tell that a purchase came from Gradia and pay us the commission that funds the platform, and so that a Gradia ambassador who introduced you to us is credited for it.
When you tap through to a brand from Gradia, including through a gradia.co.uk/go/ link, you are sent through that brand's affiliate network (AWIN or CJ Affiliate). The network sets its own tracking cookies on its own site or the brand's site, so that the brand can recognise the purchase as coming from Gradia. Gradia does not set these cookies and does not control them. On our side, we log an anonymous click for that brand.
The referral cookie, gradia_ref, is set by us, and only if you have accepted marketing cookies in our cookie banner.

We may add analytics or additional marketing cookies in the future - for example, Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, a Meta Pixel to measure a paid campaign, or equivalent tools if we begin advertising on TikTok, LinkedIn, or other platforms. None of these are in use today. Any of them would require fresh consent through the cookie banner, and this policy would be updated to describe them before they were deployed.
3. Third-party cookies
Our website does not load third-party advertising or analytics scripts. The third-party cookies that apply when you use Gradia are the affiliate cookies described above, which AWIN and CJ Affiliate set on their own sites or the brand's site when you tap through. If you choose to sign in with Google on a business partner account, Google may also set its own cookies on its own sign-in pages. These third parties process your data under their own privacy policies. We do not control their cookies, and you should refer to each party's policy for details:

4. Your choices
Consent Management
When you first visit gradia.co.uk, a cookie banner will appear. You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences. You can change your choices at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies, accept only certain cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the website.

5. Consent Mode
We do not use Google Analytics, Google advertising tags, or any other Google tracking on this website, so there is nothing for Google Consent Mode to govern. The only Google service on the site is sign-in with Google for business partner accounts, which is used only if you choose it. If we deploy a Google analytics or advertising tool in future, it will run behind Google Consent Mode v2, so that it receives no personal identifiers unless and until you have given consent.
6. The Gradia mobile app
The Gradia mobile app does not use website cookies. It also does not use advertising identifiers such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or Google's Advertising ID (GAID), and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The app uses only:
- A push notification token issued by Apple or Google, only if you enable notifications, so we can deliver the notifications you have asked for
- Basic device and crash data - such as device type, operating system version, and app version - needed to operate the app securely and to diagnose faults
The app does not embed advertising networks or third-party marketing pixels. It does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, because it does not track you for advertising purposes. This matches Section 9 of our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add new features or third-party tools, or as our marketing activity changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Where changes involve new cookie categories or new marketing cookies, we will request renewed consent through the cookie banner before deploying them. For minor changes (such as adding browser links or correcting cookie durations), we will update the policy without prompting renewed consent.
