How do I download Gradia?

How do I verify my student status?

Once you've created your account, enter your university   .ac.uk  email address and we'll send you a verification code. Enter the code in the app and your student status is confirmed. It takes under a minute.

My verification email hasn't arrived. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, make sure you typed your  .ac.uk  address correctly and request a new code from the app. Still nothing? Email us at    and we'll sort it.

Which universities are eligible?

Accepted Answer

Any UK higher education institution that issues a valid  .ac.uk   email address, which covers the vast majority of UK universities. If yours gives you a  .ac.uk  address, you're eligible.

I'm at a college or sixth form, not a university. Can I use Gradia?

Gradia is for students in UK higher education, at universities and colleges of higher education that issue a  .ac.uk  email address. If yours issues one, you're welcome to sign up. Sixth forms that don't issue a  .ac.uk  address aren't supported yet.

Is Gradia free?

Yes. Gradia is free to download, free to sign up and free to use, with no hidden fees. Offers, points and Monthly Tier Rewards are free for every verified UK student.

How do I use an offer in a shop?

Accepted Answer

Open the offer in the app when you're at the shop and tap to use it. Pay as normal and type in your total. Staff then read out today's store code and you type it into the app. Once it's checked, that's it: the offer is used and 25 points land in your account (points need a verified uni email).

The shop's code didn't work. What should I do?

Check you typed today's code exactly as staff read it out; you get 3 tries. You also need to be at the shop with location turned on, and the code has to go in within 3 minutes of typing your total. Each offer can be used once a day. If it still won't go through, ask staff to check they're reading today's code for this branch, then email us at   .

How do I use an online offer?

Open the brand in the app and tap the offer. You'll see a discount code to copy or a link to the brand's website, depending on how the brand has set it up. Everything you need is on the offer page.

My discount code isn't working at checkout. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Check the offer hasn't expired and that your basket meets its conditions. Minimum spend, eligible products and new customers only are the most common. If everything looks right, copy the code again from the app rather than typing it.

Can I use more than one offer code at the same checkout?

That depends on the brand's own checkout. Most allow only one code per order. Check the brand's terms at checkout, or ask them directly.

How long do offers last?

Each offer shows its end date on the offer page in the app. Some run all the time, others are for a limited time. New offers are added regularly, so check back if one you wanted has ended.

A brand is no longer showing in the app. Where did it go?

Brands and shops can pause or end their offers, for example when a promotion finishes. If a brand has gone entirely, it may have stopped working with Gradia for now. Want a brand on Gradia? Suggest it in the app.

What is Shop & Earn?

Shop & Earn lets you collect Gradia points on eligible purchases from participating brands. The points rate and any conditions are shown in the app before you go to the brand.

How do I earn points through Shop & Earn?

Open a brand from Shop & Earn and continue to its website using the Gradia link. Complete the purchase in that same visit so it can be matched to your account.

When will my Shop & Earn points appear?

It varies by brand. Your purchase may show as pending while it's checked. If it's still missing after the time shown in the app, email    with your order details.

What happens if I return or cancel an order?

Points need a confirmed purchase. If an order is returned, cancelled or declined, its pending points won't be confirmed, and confirmed points may be taken back.

How do I earn points?

Use an offer in a shop, make a Shop & Earn purchase, complete a live challenge or refer a friend. What each one is worth is shown in the app, along with your total for the month.

My points haven't appeared after using an offer. What's happened?

Check the offer gives points and that you finished every step, including typing in the shop's code. Points also need a verified uni email. If it still looks wrong, email    with the shop and the time you were there.

How do the reward tiers work?

Every month there are five tiers, each with a points threshold. Reach a tier's threshold during the month and you're in for that tier's reward. One reward per tier is picked at random on or around the 1st of the next month.

When do my points reset?

Your monthly total goes back to zero at the end of each calendar month, and doesn't carry into the next month's tiers.

We'll tell you in the app and by email within five working days, then ask you to confirm your details so we can send your reward. Cash rewards are paid by bank transfer. Need help? Email   .

Do I have to pay to be in for a reward?

No. Monthly Tier Rewards cost nothing. You're in through normal use of the app: no purchase, no ticket and no fee.

How do I change my email address?

In the app, go to your profile, then Account Settings, to change your personal email. Your  .ac.uk  uni email is separate; to change that, email    and we'll help.

Tap Forgot Password on the login screen and we'll email you a reset link. No longer have that email? Contact    and we'll check it's you and get you back in.

What happens to my points if I switch phone?

Nothing. Points belong to your account, not your phone. Download Gradia on the new phone, log in, and everything is where you left it.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to your profile, Account Settings, then Delete Account, and confirm. Information we don't need to keep is removed or anonymised in line with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR; some records must be kept by law. Unused points and this month's tier places are lost.

The app keeps crashing. What should I do?

Close the app fully and reopen it. If it keeps happening, update your phone's software and the Gradia app, then try again. Still crashing? Email    with your phone model, its software version and what you were doing.

The app is loading slowly or content isn't showing.

Usually it's the connection. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, then close and reopen the app. If it keeps happening, check our social channels for updates or email   .

Check notifications are on for Gradia in your phone's settings (on iPhone: Settings, Notifications, Gradia). If they're on but not arriving, log out and back in to refresh them.

Your dashboard shows a new 6-digit code every day. At the till, the student types in their total, you read out today's code, and they type it in. No scanner, card machine change or app on your side. You can also have the code emailed to you each morning; switch it on in Settings.

Make sure you're reading today's code, for the right branch if you have more than one. Codes change every day, and if you replaced today's code, the old one stops working straight away.
